Common questions
Can a state government employee approach the CAT?
Generally no. The CAT's jurisdiction covers central government employees and notified organisations. State government service matters go to State Administrative Tribunals where constituted, or to the High Court.
Is there a time limit for filing before the CAT?
Yes, the Act prescribes limitation periods running from the date of the order complained of or from the decision on a departmental representation. Delay can be condoned in appropriate cases but should not be assumed.
