Common questions
Can I go to RERA and the consumer commission both?
Both forums are available and RERA does not oust consumer jurisdiction. You cannot, however, pursue identical relief in both at the same time, so the forum should be chosen deliberately based on the relief you actually want.
What if the project is not registered with RERA?
Non-registration is itself a contravention and can be complained of. Depending on the facts, consumer forums and civil remedies may be the more practical route where the Act's registration requirement does not apply.
